Auf Internetplattformen wie Twitter, MySpace etc äußerten sich Wrestler und Promotions zum Tod Misawas. Hier einige Auszüge:

Mit großer Erschütterung haben wir heute vom Tod von Mitsuharu Misawa erfahren. Nicht nur geht dem Sport damit ein großer Mann viel zu früh verloren, sondern auch ein Mensch, den wir persönlich kennen und schätzen lernen durften, verlässt uns so plötzlich für immer. Als Misawa-san 2005 den wXw-Ring betrat, war er uns nichts schuldig und hat doch einen bleibenden Eindruck vor wie hinter den Kulissen hinterlassen. Der Respekt, die Haltung und die Freundlichkeit der lebenden Legende sind uns bis heute und sicher auch in Zukunft Vorbild und Anleitung, professionell wie privat. Unsere Gedanken sind in diesen schweren Stunden bei Mitsuharu Misawas Familie, seinen Angehörigen, den Angestellten von Pro Wrestling NOAH und seinen zahllosen Fans weltweit. Wir werden Misawa-san ein ehrendes Andenken bewahren und sind ihm für seine große Unterstützung und Großzügigkeit sehr dankbar und verbunden.

He was the first person I saw after my first championship match in NOAH and he said something that meant so much to me, "good job". It was an honor to be a part of his company. I just can't believe he's gone. I don't know what else to say. This is terrible. I feel terrible.

Shocked to hear of the passing of Mitsuharu Misawa. Was lucky enough to meet him at last year's Tokyo Dome show. What a sad tragedy. R.I.P.

TNA Wrestling is saddened to hear of the sudden and tragic loss of Misawa. He was respected around the world and he will be missed. We pass on our sincere condolences to his family and those who worked with him in Japan.

Today is a sad day for wrestling. Mitsuharu Misawa passed away way too early, though in the one place he loved — the ring. Normally the death of a fellow worker doesn’t faze me too much, not even when I actually met or even wrestled against the guy. But with Misawa it’s a little different, and I don’t know exactly why. But as with everything in life I try to see to good side, so I will remember the good memories I have of Mitsuharu Misawa. [...] I have great memories of Japan, and have to thank "Sacho", which means boss and was the nickname of Mitsuharu Misawa for it. And I am sure he never knew how happy and proud he made me, when he stepped into the ring with me. I was lucky enough to not only meet Misawa, but had the chance to wrestle him. And believe me, his forearms were some of the most brutal I ever had to take. I will never forget him, and will continue to use his move in his memory.
